Chicago IL dentist
If you have a cosmetic dental problem that you want to have corrected, it can often be fixed with either porcelain dental veneers or dental bonding. At our dental practice, Advanced Dental Care, our
Chicago IL dentist, Dr. Roxanna Khaghani, can provide you with both of these cosmetic dental treatments.
Porcelain veneers can be used to correct many different cosmetic dental problems. Porcelain veneers are actually thin shells made of porcelain which are permanently attached to the front of the tooth. They will only cover the front of the tooth, but are very strong and will last for many years. Porcelain veneers are extremely thin and color-match your teeth so no one will be able to tell that you have them in your mouth. Porcelain veneers can be used to correct: teeth that are too short; teeth that are slightly misaligned; teeth that have uneven gaps between them; teeth that are chipped; teeth that have surface cracks in the enamel; and many other cosmetic tooth problems. For smaller problems, our dentist may recommend that you get dental bonding. Dental bonding can be used to correct structural as well as cosmetic dental problems. Many people compared dental bonding materials to the clay that a sculptor uses. This is why it is very important that if you have dental bonding performed that you come to see our dentist who is particularly adept at handling these materials. Using dental composite resin, our dentist can restore many types of chipped or broken teeth, reshape your smile, or fill in gaps in your smile. In order for the dental bonding to take hold on your teeth, our dentist will apply a mild etching solution to your teeth so that the resin material will be able to tightly adhere to your teeth. The resin comes in different shades so that it can be made to completely match your teeth. Our Chicago IL dentist will let you know which type of cosmetic dental procedure will work best for solving your cosmetic dental problem.
